Our children have deemed us the most boring family in America b/c we don't have a dog, a Wii, or a fridge that makes ice and water.
However, thanks to our Leavitt cousins moving from the area with an over-full Uhaul, we were loaned a redeeming asset: a trampoline.
We have loved this addition to our backyard.
...until November 5th 2010 when Elizabeth was on the outside of the net, getting off the tramp and was shoved by an unnamed brother with extreme force causing her to flip off the tramp and land in the grass.
24 hours later Jim took her to an Insta-Care after a good friend confirmed what Jim suspected- a good break in her radius.
Why did it take sooo long to take her in? Well this little 5 year old hardly cried when the accident happened! She is so tough (and hates the idea of going to the Dr.) but Jim reports that she was super brave during the whole procedure and earned every sucker she came home with that night:)The next day, she insisted on wearing this dress b/c it matched her sling.
Boy was she excited to get to choose a pink cast!
And now, 6 weeks later, the cast is off and she has 2 fully functioning arms. We are all grateful for that (long sleeve shirts and coats were a bit of a pain, I must admit!)

ok, seattle looked like a flippin' blast! I kinda wish I was there with you guys! The Nutcracker sounded awesome. I can only imagine Lizzy and Anna! (and their skirts --you probably made them!) AND finally, poor Lizzy and her arm... we were forbidden to jump on trampolines when we were kids and for the record, we don't have a fridge that makes ice, or a wii....we're a "normal" bunch too! I think you are an amazing mother...I know I say it a million times....xo btw that picture at the top is so cute of your whole family!!!!
Next time one of your children breaks their arm, they should do it in summer so you don't have to struggle with the long sleeves. Hee, hee!
I believe you've had one break their arm in the summer, haven't you? Regardless of the season, it's not so fun. Although, the pink cast is very cool and I like the way she was able to turn the sling into a chic fashion accessory for her darling dress.
