This was our family's 2nd camping trip in 2012 (the boy's 3rd...). I really should post Spring Break in Hells Canyon- it was such a WONDERFUL family trip! But today I'm uploading pictures from this past weekend.
We took Shadow on her first campout and everyone had a great time.
(thanks, Liz, for documenting I was there, too)
Playing along the rocks near a safe spot in the river was super fun! We all had fun helping James build a "pool" for Abigail by stacking rocks.
Man were our feet muddy after walking through the marshy fields!
These hotsprings waterfalls were so cool!
As were the puddles FILLED with hundreds of tadpoles! I told the kids we would have to come back next week and check on them to which Joseph replied with a cry"no, I stay here! I don't want to come back". That boy LOVES his camping trips. EVERY TIME he talks to his daddy on the phone he requests they go camping.
Jojo on his 3rd full hotdog.
The boys may or may not have played hide and seek with the chipmunks and BBgun...
Mmmm- creating our current favorite dutch oven dessert of peach cobbler.
Joj finishing off the Chocky Milk.
As soon as we got to camp, the kids began collecting and selling rocks in their various shops. Elizabeth reserved this *heart* shaped one for me. Love the sweetness:)
(and Jim loves that Joj photobombed this picture;)
two of the 50 frogs the kids caught.
Oh, yeah- so the campsite was nearly full (of a ghettoblasting, loud drinking crowd) so we took it upon ourselves to camp in the Host spot for the evening, since they won't be arriving 'til May... It was a sweet spot!
(and more frog catching)

Stunning photography, Karin. These outings are staged just for you to wow us with your camera skills, right?
Karin - your blog is so much fun to read. Your kids are adorable and growing up so fast (funny how that happens) I especially love "the fish" story. That was so sweet - I'm sure something ya'll will never forget :) Sure love ya gal!
