Sunrise, Sunset

…I don’t remember growing older, when did they?

I am reminded daily just how quickly my little babes are turning into big kids which makes me cherish my moments of building with Tinker Toys and playing Polly Pockets even more.
I’ve had this particular blog post in the back of my mind for over a month now. But like I said- time flies!!! According to the date of these pictures these events all occurred between the 3rd and 12th of September- the kids are even more grown up today!

Take Elizabeth, for example. She can pump herself on the swings! Give her a little starter push, and away she goes! Ah, the joy on her face and giggle in her voice are priceless.

And the fact that she's mastered this milestone before big brother only adds to her delight! The little girl can also skip! Truly, the sense of accomplishment here is amazing
And as for Mr. James... Well, see for yourself-

Ready...

Set...
GO!!!All in a day's work.James was practicing this trick before we moved from Arizona, but the broken arm and 3 week grace period thereafter gave us perfect excuses to put this off. However, just before a soccer game last month, Daddy and James went out front and within 2 minutes, James was on his way!
We went to the store and bought Elizabeth her own 'big girl bike'. Perhaps this was long overdue, but we have so many trikes and big wheels from garage sales; and she was content with them. But we knew she would be overjoyed and feel extra special with a little added attention. As she rode her bike through the store to the checkout stand, we knew this was $35 well spent. We faced the same dilemma with her as we did with James at this age- they are between bike sizes. With James, we bought the 16 inch bike and he grew into it (and still rides it comfortably). For Elizabeth, we decided to go with the 12 inch- where her knees nearly hit the handlebars, but she can get stable on it and Anna can get use out of it next year.
We have a lot of fun biking through the neighborhood together.

Elizabeth and James call grandparents to share their exciting news.

Bikes are SO fun! Great pictures! I can't believe how fast they are growing! By the way ... I love wht you did with Elizabeth's hair ... next time you do that, would you mind taking a close-up pic and either email it to my or blog it? I love it! I just can't figure out what you did in the back!

WE have the same 'big girl bike' for Aliya. Tony had taken her to Walmart a couple times to let her play around with it. She was so excited when she could finally take it home. Hope Blake doesnt mind riding a pink girlie bike in a year or two!

It's true...Elizabeth's hair is too cool, once again! You should teach lessons (first on how you do it and second on how you get her to hold still!) And the pictures are so great. I wish I had pictures of me learning to do those things..they'll love them when they're older!
