Stolen

The great thing about blogs is seeing the creativity come out in each of you. Unfortunately, my blog consists more of documentation than creative writing, but that will have to be a goal for '09...

One of my favorites is "Flashback Fridays" which I have seen on a few of your blogs and intend to steal. My old photos are still lost in a box in the garage, so this will likely be sporadic at best, but after Jeff forwarded this picture a few weeks ago, I just had to include it as the first (of hopefully many) Flashback Friday Photos.

I realize few of you will appreciate the photo, but for me it brings back floods of memories. Bishop Alfandre bought a bus for our youth activities. I believe this was Youth Conference '92 and I felt sooo cool this year for several reasons... I was not yet 14, but because I would be before the end of the year, they included me. I always LOVED activities with my big brothers. They were SO RAD and didn't seem too bugged by me being the annoying little sister. I had instant friends- including the older girls, even if it was just to get an "in" with my awesome brothers. I loved that my best friend, Becca was there. She was instant coolness. Ahhh, memories. We moved shortly after this photo was taken. It is funny how memories tend to be rosie and cheerful, but seriously- this ward was incredible. I loved moving around and wouldn't trade my high school friendships for anything; but I admit I was jealous of these friends who continued to grow closer together. Tangents upon tangents fill my mind as I look at this photo, but I will stop at that. Look forward to more flashbacks in the future!

*Oh, and if you're looking, I'm towards the left side, middle in a purple-ish shirt, with my dad in a white shirt diagonally behind me, big brother Jeff front right in black hat and I want to say other big brother Matt is in the back row of boys, far right.

Wow karin, crazy seeing this picture! We did have some awesome times in those days, didn't we?! It was always hard for me to get over you moving away. You make me laugh though--I can't think of anyone else in this world who would use the words 'instant coolness' when talking about me! It did feel pretty cool getting included in anything with the older kids though-that was always fun!
