I have been reminded of how selfless and brave those pioneers were, as the kids and I have read stories of their pioneer heritage this week. (thanks again, Jan, for the great book you compiled of Anna Rebecca Rodgers.) James is especially intrigued. We certainly have so much to be grateful for, and often take daily things like safety, food and shelter for granted.
While playing in the freezing little stream with the kids camping last weekend, I was reminded of one of my favorite pioneer stories of 3 heroic boys. (You can read their story here, here, or here.) I am ever grateful for the saints who endured so much and left us a legacy of faith and endurance.
