Flashback Friday

When Jim and I started dating, I really enjoyed going to the various military functions with him.

I have always loved all things patriotic, and these events are certainly that (albeit a bit goofy with the dead bug, toilet bowl grog and other random traditions). Jim took me to a banquet this past week, and it was just as great as ever. (However, I decided next time I will treat myself to a new dress as the picture above and the picture below are in the same dress, just 11 years and 4 kids later...) And check out my handsome date in the same tux, with many more medals added!
Elizabeth was in heaven "helping" me get ready for a date with my boyfriend.

I always get teary-eyed as the flag is displayed, national anthem sung, and POW tribute is made. We live in a great land.

Wow! Am I impressed! Of course, I shouldn't be surprised since you have a live-in nanny and a cook and bottle washer at your family's beck and call. I'm pleased to hear that the housekeeper's svelte prince charming still takes her to the ball every year. I heard that you spend most of every day out running. It looks like a great training program. Is your goal the Boston Marathon? Congratulations!
