Elizabeth learned to ride w/o training wheels last summer, but was never confident on it- then broke her arm and winter came. She now rides like a champ and wants to go everywhere, so we made a long-awaited wish come true and biked to our local library today. Of course we picked the hottest day of the summer, and left an hour later than I'd hoped, but no one complained, everyone was safe, and they are already making plans to go again tomorrow. My legs are requiring a few days break in between such rides, though.
Upon returning home, we ate lunch while watching one of the movies we borrowed, then had an hour long read-a-thon. James finished his 120+ page book before heading to bed and agreed "it was like watching a movie in your head". Good thing this is a series.
The girls sat through most of The Sound of Music and Jim came home just in time for the exciting ending. We'll be watching that one again before returning it in a week, and hopefully not accrue any late fees.
We missed calling cousin Isaac yesterday, and aunt Lisa today on their birthdays. Sorry guys. This time zone difference makes it difficult to get everyone together in time.
I just got the kids out of bed to sit on the porch and watch the rain fall. Old tradition from when I used to visit my Grandma in Ogden. We skipped out on the popcorn, as we've already had that twice today, but it was still wonderful. We are glad to have Daddy home from his trip.
I love this season- both weather and time in my life.
