Along with rearranging furniture (I wasn't here when the movers plopped furniture along the perimeter of the room...) I also need advice on window coverings. The red is something we brought down with us, and I picked up the fabric draped over the door in the $1 section at walmart just because. (I threw it over an existing rod on the door to decide if it was something that would work. James came in and exclaimed "I like the Halloween decoration!)... We're only here a few months, so I don't want to invest much, but privacy would be nice...Any and all suggestions are welcome!!!

Granted, I can't see the entire room and it's full "aura" and "ambience" (yes, I'm a nerd), but I would maybe try the TV in the corner next to the window at an angle, with the couches and chair in some L-shaped configuration. Again, I'm not there. It may look like up-dog. If so I sincerely apologize, but you DID ask for opinions!
By the way, your rug is fabulous!
I love the floor! It looks like it would be so easy to sweep and wipe up spills and roll wheels around on, ie, trucks, strollers, bikes. The light color makes the room look larger and will camouflage lint and dust better than a dark floor. And best of all, it is allergy friendly. Your home looks like a lovely and comfortable place to stay for a few months. Hopefully we will be able to see it in person before you leave! I agree about the rug -- a great accent piece.
We give all thanks to Katie for our token rug... we knew the house was white tile throughout, and she lent it to us, so Anna would have a soft place to land (which she has on several occasions...) And yes, Lisa- the floor actually is really nice to sweep/mop... I'll have to get a picture of Jim doing just that- with his industrial sized mop. It's great... And yeah, Laurel- I was thinking to angle to TV and the rug... we'll see what I get around to this weekend. For now the goal is a shower.
I love James comment about Halloween decoration. And, Lizzie's about the cereal. I was working on a house yesterday and asked Caleb what he thought. He told me, "It looks pretty cute, but the pillow with the flowers is not good." Too funny! Hey, when we ask for their feedback?!!
