Captain Vegetable

While laying beside James in his bed tonight, we were discussing his feelings about his big day tomorrow... first day of first grade.
me: ..."why are you a little bit nervous?"
James: "Because some kids might not like me."
"Why would kids not like you?"
"Because I'm a little bit different."
"How are you different?"
"Well, like, because I like fruits and vegetables and stuff."
.....Wow, if these are the biggest 'differences' he's worried about, I'm thinking he will be just fine.
Incidentally, earlier in our conversation we were discussing what else to put in his lunch. He was hesitant when I suggested carrots. I guess I now know why. I'm thinking there will be plenty of other "weird" kids whose mothers insist on healthy lunches, too.

I whish my kids were "weird" like James - Michael is feeling the same way though - thinking that kids don't like him - It is tough to be a kid!

If I gave my kids a choice between a twinkie or a V8 they would choose the V8. You can't get any weirder than that! All my kids LOVE V8! Good for you! Healthy lunches are important. Some kids are SO mean. It's ridiculous!

Oh, that is so sweet! I hope that it all went well, and that he found some "different" friends!
