Attn: Disney Fanatics

We are really, super excited to be going on our first family vacation to Disneyland!
But we are leaving soon, and I don't feel adequately prepared for such an adventure. So I am asking YOU for advice. I'd love any suggestions you may have regarding the happiest place on earth.
Better yet, come join us!!!

You do not want to miss the parade (even if the kids seem too tired) it truly is magical. Our favorite seats are on benches on the right side of the castle if you're looking at it from main street.(Save them early!) Wish we could go with you, we LOVE Disneyland.

Hmm...things I wish I had known the first time Rob took me:

-wear the best walking shoes that you own
-bring a ton of water to drink
-a good night's sleep the night before goes a long way, especially because the earlier you get there, the more rides you can go on
-if you tell the person you buy tickets from that it is the kiddos FIRST TIME EVER, I'm pretty sure they will give you buttons to wear like Rob and I got on our Anniversary. This ensured that we got put into the front of a lot of rides and even got some free passes to go to the front of the lines of some of the more popular rides

That's all I can think of for now. Boy, I sure wish we could go with you guys. Nothing could be better than seeing the look of amazment on their faces as they walk in for the first time! :) Curse task master bosses.

I am totally jealous. I love Disneyland. And what a great time to go!
My only advice is to live in the strollers as much as possible. Granted, we only had one when we went, but Jake ate, slept and had his diaper changed in his stroller.
Also, bring your "big guns" stroller, so you can haul your luggage-sized diaper bag with you everywhere you go. You'll love it.
Always--get clam chowder in New Orleans Square (by Pirates). And, get the funnel cake in California Adventure. You'll thank me. I promise. (Calories don't count in Disneyland.)

You are probably already aware of this- but your husband should get a free 3 day hopper pass! We just went in January and had a blast!!! Don't miss the fireworks show! It is the best one we've ever seen! Other than that- just enjoy!!!!! Are you staying on Disney or somewhere outside the park?

OK so here is my advice - try and get the early entrance pass and go to tomorrow land first - the line for the nemo ride gets super long. Hopefully you guys are going during the middle of the week because the weekends are crazy. If you want to see the princesses - the original ones (cinderella, snow white, Aurora) are there usually there from 8-9 in the morning and then they switch to Jasmine, Belle, and Ariel. ask the first day and hopefully they will let you know - the girls missed seeing Aurora by minutes and were so dissappointed. - get the switch passes; for the rides the kids can't go on you can get a pass to switch with Jim and bypass all of the others in line (on most rides) just ask the people.
last of all - It was a little pricey but one of the best things we did was eat with Minnie and friends for breakfast. Minnie and Friends was the cheapest but there is also breakfast with the princesses - or goofy's kitchen over at the disneyland hotel. Call to make reservations though and you will get in when you wanted. The food is so yummy and they kids get to be around so many of the characters and interact with them not just take a pic with them.

I am so excited for you guys and the kids

I'm no expert, but I know that a friend of mine said they bought some software program to help you plan your Disneyland trip...it helped you plan out what rides to take and when. She said it sounded kind of dumb but was really incredibly helpful. I'll have to try and ask her the name of it. Sounds like SO MUCH FUN! Hope you guys have a great time!!!
