I am taking a photo class at our community college. This past week's homework assignement was of something in the kitchen. The next day, the light was shining through and this is what I came up with. (Next time I'm assigned "something in the kitchen", I will be sure to clean my kitchen, first...)

And my teacher said they were garbage.
Last week's assignment (a self portrait)
Really messy.
So we washed him off.
In the kitchen sink.
And my instructor deemed this one:
a blue-ribbon fair winner.

Karin-- we need to talk. I too am taking a photography class and have been contemplating blogging about it. You may have steered me to do so, though your blue-ribbon photos will surely doom anything of mine.
Seriously... these are great! Let's talk. I need help.
Hurray for you! These are awesome shots. Of course, I'm partial to the ones of the kiddies over the faucet but that may be because they are so dang cute. Thanks for capturing and posting these great Kodak moments.
PS: I love the self-portrait. Very creative.
I am envious of you taking the class. Looks like you have learned a lot already.
I think they are great...even the one's he claimed as "garbage". It looks like you are having fun. I need to play with my camera more.
After you left the class, i asked him something about my lens and he told me that one of them was garbage and the biggest waste of money.....among many other things, including insulting Scott. I cried myself to sleep!
I LOVE your pictures by the way! Even your "garbage" ones are better than mine. Maybe you and Jim (former yearbook pres.) should just teach the class.
i love love love these photos! You have more than one blue ribbon winner in that stack. you're amazing.
I love them too - If he really thought they were garbage he better have a really good (technical) reason for it - I like the one with the water droplet and the sun hitting it just right that it sparkles :)
Fabulous--all of them. I was so sad to miss class. Heard LOTS of compliments about your photos. Glad you posted them! I think we're all ready for a new, more positive photo teacher. Maybe one that actually has an agenda for what to teach us. Let's look!
