And 5 of his parents favorite characteristics:

James wants to make his parents happy.
ie: at day camp this week, he told me he had the choice of receiving a sticker or tattoo. He said he chose the sticker b/c he knew I wouldn't want him to have a tattoo (I don't remember having any conversations about tattoos, but evidently he did!)

James is a kind brother. He is constantly playing with Anna, making her smile and playing peek a boo or finding things she is interested in to keep her happy.
My favorite is what great buddies he and Elizabeth are. She is his sidekick and more often than not, they play side by side, engaged in the same adventure of finding (However he does have his moments of wanting to play on his own-at which point, watch out...)

Jim is delighted that James shares his love for the great outdoors. They both enjoy hiking, looking for animals and being up in the mountains.

James has an incredible imagination. He can play for hours and hours whether it be with toys inside, or exploring out in the yard. He LOVES to play! He is also quite the artist and enjoys drawing up detailed stories of various animal, military, and mythical creature scenes.

Despite his imaginative play, James has an amazing memory and understanding of the truth. He recalls experiences as they happen and isn't afraid to correct you if you get it out of order, or wrong!
ie: While visiting grandpa's church a lady was retelling a story from the children's church magazine. Having heard the same story a week earlier, James took it upon himself to correct this poor lady "No, it was her mom... actually she said this..."

We love you buddy JameRs! Here's to another adventurous year!!!
