From one Extreme to Another

We have been meeting at 3:00 for church for quite some time(Even 4:00 for 3 hours on a couple of occasions). This really wasn't a bad setup for our family- and on a good day we would get Anna down for an early nap and have time to play games with the big kids. I also appreciated the extra lesson prep time for my 8 year old class.
We now meet in a beautiful new building, at 8:00. And to our own amazement, we were sitting in our row a good 3 minutes before the hour! During the prayer, I gently touched my finger to Anna's lips, as a quiet reminder for her to stop talking, but instead she protested a loud "NO, LIPSTICK"! (Evidently I was smudging her chapstick she'd put on before leaving for church...)
This early hour leaves us with a lot of family bonding time Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed an hour + bonding time napping with Anna, and as I walked downstairs feeling a little guilty of the wonderfully selfish time I'd just had, I found Jimmy bonding in a similar way with James and Elizabeth (however HE was the only one sleeping on the couch- the other 2 were playing).
Once Anna woke up, we broke out the paints and had fun painting pictures for each other.

Watching the kids play safari must have inspired Jim to put in a National Geographic movie of wolves in Yellowstone which the 3 kids watched intently with him; then proceeded to act out (until Buffalo James turned on his fox sisters...).

At which point we got out the wheat grinder which the kids LOVE being part of, and ground up wheat for a yummy waffle dinner

and even yummier bread.

P.S. That pic of bread is making my mouth water! ;)

Your bread looks perfect. I'm very impressed.

P.S. I would love to see the recipe on In Our Mix when you had a minute...

So is it your tradition to stay in Sunday clothes for the whole Sabbath? Whole wheat waffles and bread sound (and look) delicious. You may inspire us to use our grinder one of these days. Or maybe you could inspire Haley. Sounds like a great final Personal Progress project to learn to make break from scratch -- literally.

You put my blogging habits (or lack of) to shame. And since when do you have a wheat grinder?! Good thing we're moving closer so I can borrow it every once in a while... :)
