Natural Color

We enjoyed a few days before Easter with our families.  Lucky for Papa, this included April Fool's day.
Lizzy (okay, we all!) was so delighted with fooling Papa with a "cupcake" for dinner.  He was rushing out the door and Elizabeth told him dinner wasn't ready yet, but he could have a cupcake.  Not wanting to hurt feelings (despite a greasy wrapper) Papa took a bite and his reaction proved we had in deed fooled him with our meatloaf cupcakes.
The kids LOVE this meal!
Later, we dyed eggs.  We started a new tradition this year- one that we plan to improve on for next.  We used natural colors to dye the eggs, and they turned out really cool!  Some included blueberries, cumin, spinach and grass, and beet juice.  Uncle Rob will have to help us with some better smelling ones- maybe lavender and lemon.Oh, we did do some dye-pellets (hence the neon blue) bot the natural colors were our favorites!

Sounds like a fun way to dye eggs. And I'll try to remember that trick next time you offer cupcakes. (Jayden loves this "Eye of the Tiger" song you have on here from playing it on Rock Band. I'll have to tell him to check out your blog.)

When I saw Natural Color as your headline, I was expecting to scroll down and see a pic of you with brown hair. Then I realized that's my natural color and not yours. That looks like such a cool way to dye eggs. Very eco friendly and healthy.
