Just before heading to meet up with cousins at the pool, Farmer Lewis called announcing his colt was born that morning! He thought the kids would enjoy seeing him. They did, and so did we!
James got a kick out of feeding the horse oats
We were all amazed at how well the colt could walk, and how friendly the mother was,
just hours after giving birth.
Doesn't every mom love getting pictures of them nursing that first day?

Wow, what a treat to see that colt on it's first day. It looks like your kids loved it. Did Farmer Lewis help deliver it?
Sorry we missed you at the pool. I think I was there for about 15 minutes with Carter and Chase. But, at least they got to go. It only cost $10 in gas, too.
I love, love, love the new pictures of your kids. It is darling! How fun to be by a new colt.
We need to move to ID so we can join you on these fun outings! I can't believe that colt came out of that small horse... yikes. Props to all you birthing mommies. :)
