Gimme 5 (and 5 million pictures)

Remember this day?

(5-5-05)

Now she's 5! And James has pointed out that the first letter of her name is the 5th letter in the alphabet and her nickname, L-I-Z-Z-Y, is 5 letters long.

When our 5 year old requested a princess party, how could we turn her down?

However, her guest list was rather long so we decided just to hold the party the day before her b-day, during preschool.

Every princess party needs a fairy god mother with curly hair...

My girls crack me up in this picture. Look at them pose. After trying on dress after dress the night before the party, Elizabeth came downstairs the morning of in this tulip dress. Evidently she felt that a day of dress ups meant she could wear this dress sans a shirt underneath. Our princess guests decorated princess hatsAnd major thanks to Carmela for dressing up the princesses with polka dot painted nails.

Anna takes a shot at pin the crown on the princessAnd we ate a delicious meal, fit for a king;)Our little frog tried and tried to get a kiss out of this princess...Each princess had her picture taken with Tiana (Elizabeth had her choice between Tiana, Aurora and Cinderella)Many of our party activity ideas were inspired from this great bookThe girls each decorated a "throne" pillow (thanks a million, Jen, for finishing these up.) Aren't they darling?!!A fierce dragon threatened the princesses while at a royal ballThankfully two handsome knights were nearby and saved the day

Her castle cake
Our polly pocket fanatic!
Princesses, knights, and a frog.  What more could you ask for at a princess party?

ON Elizabeth's birthday, she requested lunch at Tucano's where she excitedly anticipated the attention of being sung to and receiving free ice cream. (Joseph was less than impressed.)Anna was very pleased.LOVE the looks on these girls' faces. Elizabeth would never say it, but her eyebrows show just how she felt about sharing her birthday treat.

Then onto clogging...

And some family fun at Chuck E. Cheese. (I thought we had escaped this place for birthdays this year, but when the weather turned bad on us, we had to go with plan B, C or D and this was it. We were able to bring our cake, and the kids didn't mind one bit.

Elizabeth's good friend, Sarah, wanted to check out clogging and came along to Chuck's with us, too.Recognize that cake base?  Yeah, we recycled the bottom of the castle, added a princess and voila- cake #2.We love cousins!!!Thanks for coming and making it a special evening, everyone!

Love it! This is definitely a very special year that won't have so many relations to FIVE until she is 55, has 5 kids, lives 5 houses down from you and is married to the 5th richest man in the world!
You definitely throw awesome parties. Incredible. Thanks for letting us have so much fun at ChuckE's with y'all.

Elizabeth's mother was definitely on creativity overload for this event. The five in my age is in the 10's column, but I was transported back to childhood and Make Believe when I saw all the pretty pink and purple princess party paraphernalia. I love your photos. How did you ever manage to do it all? The 3 good fairies from Sleeping Beauty must have been there with their magic wands. Congratulations to you both for an amazing party of a lifetime.
