a day of REST???

I truly do love Sundays.  But I have had to remind myself several times this morning that this is intended to be a day of rest.  I was gathering finishing touches for my 9 year old primary class when the phone rang- and I agreed to give the prayer in Sacrament meeting. Opening prayer.  Scratch the ideas of making headbands for Joseph's 11 brothers- we needed to ensure we were on time. (Lizzy says it is my lucky weekend because yesterday was our anniversary and today I got to say the prayer!) I wanted to prepare the kiddos (Anna) that they would not be following me up to the podium, so I asked what words they might listen for me to say.  James suggested families and Anna said "not poopy".  -She was right about that. As we left, I notice baby Joseph needed a clean diaper- but no time for that before the meeting begins, so we buckle up, stinky boy and all, and make it onto a bench just in time to see relief cross the conductor's face.  After the prayer, I thanked a neighbor for holding Joseph (as her boys all held their noses at his stench) took him out to change his diaper, left the meeting a second time when he was too tired to be still and while nursing him, Anna informed me she had just peed her underwear.  Of course I didn't bring the diaper bag nor keys with me, so after the meeting Anna, Joseph and I went out to the car to take care of Anna and juggle all my props for my lesson. For the next two hours Joseph reminded me and everyone around me that he was missing a nap.  Luckily he is making up for that now.
Did I mention Jim was at work today?
Ahhh, love this day of rest. How did you enjoy yours?
