Anna's Home!

As the following pictures document, we spent our weekend in the hospital with baby Anna. We took her to the pediatric ER on Friday at 4:30, expecting a little treatment or reassurance and to be sent home. Nope. Nearly 72 hours later we were discharged after she had been diagnosed with pneumonia, and later, RSV. So sad. So super sad to have a sick child and then to have to aid doctors and nurses in "helping" your sick child by pinning her down to receive IV's and treatments and suctions- even a simple thermometer under the armpit is traumatic for a 10-month-old! But I became incredibly grateful for our good health. Anna started out in the PICU because there weren't enough beds in the pediatric wing, and it was so, so humbling to realize how good we have it. I am so grateful for our healthy family. I am also so grateful for a SUPER husband who cared for Elizabeth and James' every need and transported them back and forth from the hospital to home for 3 days. Way to go, Daddy! He's so awesome to not even consider working/flying/studying and pawning off our kids, because he LOVES to be with them and is such a support! Anna required 24/7 holding. The pictures make it look like we just locked her in the cage of a crib; not the case. (you can only take so many pictures of a miserable child-once she was feeling a little better, we captured it on film.) She was SO MiSeRaBlE the first 2 days, but with meds, oxygen and time has nearly returned to our loveable little girl! Now I'm rambling and making little sense... We're just glad Anna's oxygen is good and can continue healing from home.

Oh I hate hospitals. And even more so when it's my kid who is the patient. I'm so glad she's getting better and was so well cared for. She's so cute.

I'm so sorry to hear about Anna's hospitalization. It is so hard to see our little ones so sick... I'm glad to hear that she is home and I'm glad you went to the hospital eventhough you didn't expect it to be anything serious. Those pictures are heartbraking. I hope she can quickley get completely recover!
