As has been noted, Elizabeth is my right hand in the kitchen. However, she got discouraged yesterday when trying to mix the egg yolks into the brownie torte batter...

"These eggs are not listening to me!" ...why not?... "Because they are just swimming around in the chwocwat."I better include this oh so rich, yet oh so delicious recipe:
2/3 C butter
1 C semi sweet chips
1 1/2 C sugar
1 1/2 C flour
1tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
4 eggs
1tsp vanilla
1/2 C walnuts (optional)
1 Pint whipping cream
preheat oven to 350 and line a jelly roll pan with wax paper.
Heat butter and chocolate chips 'til melted.
Take off heat and stir remaining ingredients (EXCEPT whipping cream) into chocolate mixture.
Spread over wax paper and bake for 20-25 minutes.
While brownies are cooling, beat whipping cream in a mixer until whipped, sweetening it slightly
(with a few tablespoons of powdered sugar).
After having cooled for 10 minutes, carefully turn brownie pan upside down onto a clean surface.
(I usually either put a clean dishtowel to the brownie side and lay it down together or use a large cutting board -to prevent breaking)
Cut brownies into 4 equal rectangles. Place one rectangle onto serving plate. Cover with 3/4 C of the whipped cream. Stack the next rectangle on top of that one, and repeat process with remaining brownie pieces. Use remaining whipping cream to frost entire torte when finished. You may also sprinkle shaved chocolate or mini chocolate chips on top.
(Lately I've just made 2 2-story brownies and given one to a neighbor b/c it's so rich and if it stayed in my fridge, I would likely end up eating it anyway...)
EaSy and delicious- enjoy!

Yeah, Adam has issues with yelling at inanimate objects all the time! We try to explain that these things (i.e. blocks, stuffed animals, or whatever the case may be) don't INTENTIONALLY disobey him, but I don't think he quite gets that concept yet... ;)
Oh yeah, and a delicious addition to this already rich recipe is to add HEATH/SCORE CANDY BAR BITS on top of the whipped cream on each layer as well. YUM!
I'd like to see a photo of the finished product! Sounds delicious! BTW, I tagged you on my blog (it's not the first post--you have to scroll down a bit)!
oh you are such a cute mom! That is the cutest thing! My Kids LOVE to cook too, and it can either be really fun or really messy...usually both! I love how she say choclate! that is so cute!! Did you end up with scrambled eggs?
We just went to Carrabba's for our anniversary dinner on Ina/Oracle. It was great, we thought. $40 meal for the 2 of us. Not a place for the kids for sure. Would be nice to go there if you want to some time soon.
You are the best mother. That looks like a b last, and she is so darn cute!
She cracks me up! (No pun intended, seriously).
I've got to try this recipe. Fancy.
