Lead by a real live firetruck, the millions of neighborhood kids circled the block -twice, it was so fun! James quickly got over his nerves of riding his bike with a broken arm, after not being allowed to ride for 5 weeks and he kept right up with the firetruck.
With straws sticking out of our helmets and all kinds of ribbon and tape, we were going for tackiest bike around. But as soon as James got into it, I knew I had to set my initial vision aside and let him get creative. He was sure he would win a prize!
We had such fun meeting up with friends like Brooke, Clarissa and Caden and checking out their cool bikes.
B-B-Q-ing with our neighbor friends was awesome! They were so kind to include us in their family gathering, as they had parents and God-parents visiting from out of state. The food was incredible and it was great just relaxing and chatting the evening away. Anna even enjoyed the extra attention.
The night got away from us, and finally after 9:30 we decided we'd better find a spot to go watch fireworks. I admit, this is more for Mommy than anyone. But James was DeLiGhTeD by the HUGE fireworks (rather than little ones out front) and we stumbled upon a fabulous spot!
Sissy was less than impressed as she is not fond of loud noises. Anna had enough. She just zonked-
The 4th of July is my favorite holiday (Christmas is a season- I love the Christmas season most, but holiDAY? the 4th). I mean really, who doesn't love being with family, hanging out with friends, Popsicles, BBQ, inspiring fireworks and honoring this awesome country and those incredible soldiers sacrificing to keep it that way?

Of course your kids are the cutest and all decked out for the fourth. You are a perfect mother! I hope you know that. I can only aspire to be like you some day. What a great time!
