Whenever I think about pi-O-neers...

I think of BraVe women and men. I like to remember that children came, too. I would like to have been a child then.

On the 24th of July we decided to remember the pioneers by doing activities that we thought the pioneers might have done, too. It was fun building log cabins and creating whirligigs.
I was surprised that the boys seemed most excited about sewing a button! We'll have to get out the needles and thread more often (but we'll give James' fingers a couple days to recover...ouch!:)

Elizabeth was more interested in gluing her body than a cabin. Unfortunately the babyhairs on her leg did not enjoy the peeling of session...

The few games we read about were cute- where the kids tried being puppies and making each other laugh, and a version of Simon Says where they try to trick the others into quacking like a cow or flying like a pig.

You guys did tons of fun stuff. Thanks for including Caleb. I am so grateful he has Aunt Karin to do so many creative, amazing things with.

Karin, you are the best mom ever! You are so cute to think of all these creative ways to help your kids learn. Can you give me pointers one day when I'm a mom?
